SRINAGAR

Air Srinagar has its own airport and all major airlines operate daily flights To & Fro Srinagar City. The airport is located at a distance of 14 kms (approx) from the city centre.

Rail:-

At present, Srinagar is connected by rail from Banihal. The work on Katra - Banihal section is expected to complete in a few years which will connect Kashmir valley with the rest of the country.

Road:-

Srinagar is on National Highway 44 and is connected by the highway network to all parts of the country. Distance from Jammu to Srinagar is 257 kms (approximately) <23>Bus Service J&K State Road Transport Corporation operates buses from Srinagar to Jammu and New Delhi on regular basis.

Tourist Taxis:-

Taxis(Innova, Tavera etc) operate between Jammu and Srinagar (To & Fro) on shared seat basis. These are mostly run by private Tour operators.

Local sightseeing:-

Taxis for local sightseeing or to visit any tourist destination can be hired at Srinagar from Tourist Taxi Stand No 1, TRC Srinagar

 

JAMMU

Air:-

Jammu has its own airport and all major airlines operate daily flights To & from Jammu City. The airport is located 8 kilometres southwest of the city of Jammu, along Ransingh Pura Road

Rail:-

Jammu Tawi is an important railhead of the Northern India, just 6 Kms from the city. Jammu Tawi is connected to all major cities in India like Delhi, Kolkata , Mumbai, Chennai, etc..

Road:-

Jammu is on National Highway 44 and is connected by the highway network to all parts of the country.

Bus Service:-

Daily bus services of all classes operate to and from Jammu to Srinagar, Delhi, Amritsar, Ambala, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Shimla, and Haridwar. Besides the J&K State Road Transport Corporation (J&K SRTC) the road transport corporations of Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Chandigarh also operate bus services between Jammu and various cities in north India. All inter-state bus services operate to and from the Jammu General Bus Stand.
